Happy Halloween, friends! We've been having a spooky good time around here. Linus had so much fun dressing up for gymnastics class yesterday and again at preschool this morning for the big party! All the mamas and papas were inviting in for a few minutes to hear the class sing the super adorable Halloween songs they've been practicing. I loved every second of it. Linus and Evan are out doing a bit of trick-or-treating in our neck of the woods before I take him out with Jedi and Sadie near their house. I'm just sitting here listening to a spooky music mix, snacking on salty pumpkin seeds and handing out candy to all the little gremlins. I'm looking forward to helping Linus sort his candy later tonight. I wonder if he'll share with his little brother;)
Enjoy the night. Stay safe and if your trick-or-treating in Edmonton, bundle up!

This Moment

{This Moment} - A Friday ritual. Inspired by Soule Mama. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

I'm loving...

•Conversations with this puddin' pop. He's a sponge. He remembers everything! He brings up things I've said or done months ago. Things that seemed so insignificant at the time.
•This candle is the cats pajamas. The creme de la creme. It's the bees knees, I tell ya! It's called 'Hot Buttered Rum' and it's sold exclusively at Anthropologie when the weather turns cold. I'm obsessed with the smell. When I saw it in the store yesterday I had a mini heart attack as I gathered 8 of them in my arms. I did eventually calm down and decided to just buy two. I'll be asking for another one from Santa, though.
•apple pears- my latest craving. So crunchy, juicy and delicious!
•Listening to my baby boys heart beat. The soothing sounds never gets old. I rented a fetal doppler a while ago to help ease my mind before I was able to feel the little guy. Now we pull it out every once in a while just to check in between doctor visits. He can hear us now:)
•Planning the nursery. Evan painted his room 'pot of cream' and I've slowly been nesting away. Making a cozy little place for baby boy to call his own.

is it... or is it?

We're pleased as punch to be adding another boy to the family! He was very wiggly during the entire ultrasound, so our photos of him are a bit blurry. I can assure you all that he's a healthy looking, super cute, thumb sucking baby boy! Hooray!!! I just can't wait to meet him. I think we might even have a name picked out, but I won't be sure until I see his sweet face. 20 weeks to go!

20 weeks! (I think?)

Well, we certainly have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Linus is getting pretty excited about the idea of a new little baby joining the family. He came over to me the other day and suggested we go buy the new baby a puppy blanket like the one he has. His puppy blanket is his very favorite. He brings it to show and tell almost every Friday unless I can convince him to bring something else. When he came up with the sweet idea all on his own my heart pretty much exploded into a trillion pieces. He also added that maybe while we're picking up the puppy for the baby we could also pick up a "super cool fire ball thing". He's full of ideas...
I'm half way through this pregnancy now. I have a few aches and pains... I'm getting a lot of heartburn these days and I have to pee every ten minutes, but for the most part I'm feeling really good. Evan says he's been suffering though sympathy pains so we decided to take a photo of his growing belly, too;) This baby has grown a lot over the past few weeks and my OBGYN is pretty sure I'm 20 weeks now which means my original due date of March 5th is now February 21st! It's sort of a long story and I'm still a little confused about the change. It's not a big deal and we will be getting an ultrasound done tomorrow which might help to settle things. We're also hoping to find out if this little jumping bean is a boy or a girl! I'm so excited I probably won't sleep tonight. We've had a mix of reactions when people ask us if we're planning on finding out the sex. When it comes to babies, it seems everyone has an opinion, am I right? We went through it all the first time, too. Anyways, we're going to be finding out the sex of the baby for one major reason- We're soo freaking excited about this little person and we want to know as much about him/her as possible. I've already planned the nursery and it would be totally adorable for a boy or a girl. Plus we already have plenty of unisex onesies, leggings and sleepers, so it's not really for us to prepare for a boy or a girl. I've just always felt that the true surprise at birth is seeing their sweet little face, not what's between their legs. I honestly can't think of a single reason why we would want to wait to find out.
Now that I've said that, chances are this baby won't show us a thing.
I'll be sure to share the news and our ultrasound photos here as soon as I can!
